2022 ANNUAL RESOLUTIONS

RESOLUTION #2022A – ON APPRECIATION TO OUR HOSTS

Whereas Trinity Baptist Church, Wellston, has graciously provided their comfortable facilities for the 92nd Annual Meeting of the Pottawatomie-Lincoln Baptist Association (PLBA); and

Whereas Pastor Lane Buckley, staff and congregation of Trinity Baptist Church, Wellston, have extended every kindness and have graciously provided for our every need; now, therefore be it

Resolved, that the churches of Pottawatomie-Lincoln Baptist Association (PLBA): as messengers to the 92nd Annual Meeting of the PLBA, held at Trinity Baptist Church, Wellston, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, express our sincere appreciation to Pastor Lane Buckley, staff and congregation of Trinity Baptist Church, Wellston, for their hospitality.

 

RESOLUTION #2022B – ON PLBA OFFICERS AND STAFF

Whereas the Officers and Staff of the PLBA work tirelessly throughout the year to advance the work of our Lord through the Association;

Whereas the Staff work above and beyond what is expected in preparation for regular Executive Board meetings and the Annual Meeting; and

Whereas the Moderator, Vice-Moderator, Clerk and Treasurer render invaluable service in the work of the Association; now, therefore be it

Resolved, the churches of Pottawatomie-Lincoln Baptist Association (PLBA): as messengers to the 92nd Annual Meeting of the PLBA, extend sincere gratitude to all of our Officers and Staff for their faithful service.

 

RESOLUTION #2022C – DISPLAYING CHRIST TO OUR NATIVE COMMUNITIES

Whereas the churches of Pottawatomie Lincoln Baptist Association have the potential to minister to Native American, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiian people;

Whereas we look to 1 Peter 3:8-9 for our response to the evil committed in the past to fellow image bearers; and

Whereas we are in agreement with Resolution #4 On Religious Liberty, Forced Conversion, and the Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative Investigative Report of the Southern Baptist Convention, adopted June 15, 2022; now, therefore be it

Resolved, the churches of Pottawatomie-Lincoln Baptist Association (PLBA):

1.  become familiar with Resolution #4 of the Southern Baptist Convention 2022;

2.  actively implement the resolved items into our current and future ministries;

3.  love our neighbors as ourselves (Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:39; Mark 12:31; Luke 10:27; Romans 13:9; Gal. 5:14).

 

RESOLUTION #2022D – CALL TO HUMILITY AND PRAYER

Whereas, our churches continue to minister in a society that is consistently moving away from biblical principles; and

 

Whereas, the principles of prayer and humility of seeking God are still withstanding (2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalm 51:17); now, therefore be it

 

Resolved, the churches of Pottawatomie-Lincoln Baptist Association (PLBA):

 

1. commit to humble ourselves, repent, pray and seek the face of God;

 

2. commit to be ready for the return of Jesus Christ.
